As a new home-owner, I have come to realize how vitally important security cameras are in protecting my family. Locks and deadbolts serve their function, but I want to know that my family is safe before they even open the door to see who’s on the other side.

I have installed a small dome-shaped security camera just above my front door. This non-obtrusive security camera allows my family to see who’s outside the door before we open it. I have the camera wired to my home PC and have the system programmed to begin recording when the motion sensor inside the dome is activated. This ensures that I have a digital recording of anyone who approaches my front door. Up to now, I simply delete the memory every month. Should I ever have a break-in however, this digital record will be useful to law enforcement.

The motion-activated security camera I purchased was only about 100. I did the wiring myself and linked the camera to my PC with minimal complications. I highly recommend any home-owner consider purchasing home security cameras as a means of protecting their loved ones. It’s a small up front cost that makes me feel much safer!
